GAMERDAYS IS HERE!

GamerDays is the only event of its kind from Santa Barbara through the northern LA Valley - Besides being a great weekend; all proceeds will be going to charity!

Organizers have announced that GamerDays, the World-Class Video Tournament and Festival will begin today, September 19-21 at California Lutheran University's Gilbert Sports Arena in Thousand Oaks, CA with an expected attendance over 10,000-15,000 over the course of the weekend. GamerDays will feature video tournaments, a video festival with free play and live bands with all proceeds realized from the event going to charity! The event will also present video game and computer exhibitors as well as free cons ole play and major video game companies along with local comic book and toy companies. Hosted tournaments will include: Halo 3, Rock Band and Guitar Hero with t he finals for Rock Band and Guitar Hero will be on Saturday night with a concert feel in the Gilbert Arena. Bands include local sensation Midnite Theory, Tony Avalon’s music school Rock Nation, and live from the Cat Club on the Sunset Strip , Eric Dover ! All these bands will be featuring Guitar Hero and Rock Band covers as well as some of their own music. We’re proud to announce that our Guitar Hero grand prize winner gets will “open” for Eric Dover on Sunday afternoon, playing a Guitar Hero song on the live stage with a videogame console while we blend Eric’s live band into the mix, eventually taking over the song! The festival continues outside the Exhibit Hall with vendors offering food and drink or other various products targeting our including live bands.

Santa Barbara Community College and Moorpark College's computer and video game programs will be featuring their programs which goes hand and hand with local video game company THQ's booth, recruiting programmers and game testers .

Major video game sponsors include: THQ bringing their recruiters and HR reps looking for programmers and QA candidates along with marketing displays offering their holiday and new releases. Other sponsors include, Activision , EA’s Rockband, Wizard World Conventions, JAKKS Pacific , and HopeLab will be showing their exciting videogame designed for juvenile cancer patients called Remission, where the patient plays into a graphical human body and fights cancer cells. The game lasts as long as a chemo session, which helps the kids deal better with this difficult time. GamerDays is the only event of its kind from Santa Barbara through the northern LA Valley. Besides being a great weekend, all proceeds will be going to charity for education.
