Serious Problems with American Homes Escrow - stay away from this company.

I recently received a late payments notice from my Homeowners Association management company. After a couple of phone calls to the management company, I was told that American Homes Escrow failed to notify them of my escrow closing.

I went ahead and paid a visit to American Homes Escrow, where a lady took my name, number and correspondence I had with the management company and said the escrow officer would get back to me. Not hearing anything after a week, I decided to pay a second visit and at that time I was told by the escrow officer that she did notify the management company and provided me with proof of the notification.

I went ahead and talked to the management company about this "proof of notification" and I was told that this proof is nothing more than the "initialization" piece and that a second notification should have been done by American Homes Escrow after the escrow closed.

The problem I have with this whole scenario is the lack of attention to detail and the fact that I personally have to track down the chain of events instead of the escrow company that I know for sure charged me money for their services. I am currently out $175 in late fees and interest charges.

Has anyone else had bad experience with American Homes Escrow?

Re: Serious Problems with American Homes Escrow - stay away from this company.

Well, the Homeowners Association management company confirmed that American Homes Escrow did not properly notify them of the change in ownership. When I confronted the escrow officer with these details, she refused to follow up at all, mentioned that the file had been "closed" for a year (whatever that means) and claims that she has done what was required.

As I said before, STAY AWAY FROM AMERICAN HOMES ESCROW!
