Restaurant Review: Chili's (Madera & Cochran, Simi Valley)

Terrible service, below average food.

I can start by saying that I used to enjoy Chili’s over the years. About 2 weeks ago, my family and I decided to dine at the Chili’s in Simi Valley. As always, the staff at the entrance doing the check-ins seemed nice and I asked for a table for 4 adults and a baby. With 3 people doing check-ins I figured nothing could go wrong. Thirty minutes later, after 5 parties that came after me were seated before me, I asked what happened. Receiving an “I don’t know” from 3 people seemed odd, so I decided to ask for a manager.

The manager did come, and in about 5 minutes we were seated. After apologizing and serving us with “Chips and Salsa” on the house, I figured everything would go smoothly afterwards. Was I wrong! It took 10 minutes to get drinks, about 25 minutes to get the appetizer I ordered and about 45 minutes to get the food.

The servers at the restaurant gave the impression they did not care about working there. The low-paid employees that clear the tables did so right after the parties departed, but I noticed that the tables sat empty for 30 minutes at a time during a busy Saturday night.

The ribs at Chili’s are definitely not what they were before. There is barely any meat on them and they seem overcooked. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Re: Chili's

Wow that was a bad experience, probably quite rare that something like that would happen though, I've eaten there many times and so far no bad experiences to speak of. If the ribs just aren't cutting it, I'd recommend the Citrus Fire Chicken and Shrimp - Squeeze some lime over it and that makes for one delicious meal (in my opinion anyway).

Well sorry to hear about your lack of enjoyment there, I do still like the place though, I found they have good food (from what I've sampled of their menu), and they got some of the cutest waitresses around, well them and E-Bar, heheh.

Really they should've given you a Presidente Margarita on the house instead of Chips N' Salsa, those things always seem to make things better. :)
